What is the plate method?
When we set ourselves the goal of eating well, in a varied and healthy way, it is common for doubts to assail us. On many occasions, we believe that the theory is clear to us, but the practice fails us miserably. The rush of day to day does not help and we end up eating almost anything we find in the pantry or in the fridge. However, eating well and, thus, gaining health, is easier than we may think, since it is enough to look at our plate, but not just any one, but rather the one that represents the so-called plate method , a very visual tool and simple that allows diners to combine in a single container in their main meals and, most importantly, in the right proportions.
Specifically, the main message of the plate method is to mark the amount and types of food that should shape the two great meals of the day. "Thus, in a very visual and simple way, the following distribution is established", details Ana Zugasti, member of the Nutrition Area of the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition (SEEN), which details the proportions and nutrients in which we must divide the plate, and some examples of food for each sector
